About us
Great little friendly hostel centrally located in merida and close to the bus station.

We have a swimming pool and garden, which are welcome additions in the Yucatecan climate.

We are close to downtown, the main plaza. Great markets and shopping and a short walk to the bus station


Accommodation
We have 2 dormitories with 6 bunk beds in each room. Safety lockers assigned to every bed and are located inside rooms.
1 private room with a bathroom inside the room. We also have 3 private rooms with shared bathrooms.

Services and activities
We have a kitchen and a beautiful garden with hammocks where you can hang out and meet other travellers every day. wi-fi is available free of charge. We also have a special swimming pool. A TV set and a DVD player are available with some DVDs you can borrow. We also can provide you with all necessary information about Merida and recommend you tours and places of attraction around town.

Surroundings
Casa del Tio Rafa is located close to the bus station and the santiago park with a market and a supermarket 'aki' and 'oxo'
The principal market is 5 blocks from the hostel. Evry day there are fresh frfuits cheaper than everywhere else. A few laundry services are in walkable distance. (although at Tio Rafa you can also wash your laundry for just 50 pesos)
Many authentic bars are located near by as long as the most vibrant streets with a lot of cultural events taking place.

Why should you stay with us
La Casa del Tio Rafa is homely place with a friendly atmosphere. The hostel is small, and relatively quiet, however you are likely to make friends and meet some interesting people. The nearest area is full of places go out so your stay will never be boring.
